Correction: as I read the pattern, on the edging, after completing row 1, the pattern said to ch1and turn for the 2nd row. You shouldn't have been working on the back side.

You can use Plyers and break them off rather than cut your thread. I do not remember if there is a particular type of plyers. I know how you feel! Great job!

Gorgeous purse. Just a tip from a beader, if I needed to break a bead, I would get a push pin (from the noticeboard) and an eraser. You put the eraser under your work and gently push the pin into the bead and the eraser at the same time. This saves your thread from breaking.

You can take a pair of needle nose pliers and break the bead off.

I get tunnel vision, ok? Girl, I relate. 🤣 Also, after watching for a bit, I was thinking…it said you could choose to do one bead at the top of each stitch. But you could also do the one bead at the bottom of the stitch if you wanted. Or…alternate top bead and bottom bead, per beaded row, or even every stitch. You’d get a different effect with the beads each time. Imagine using a color pattern with the beads! Knowing if you’re doing one or two beads per stitch will allow you to easily load a bead pattern. Math adventurous people could figure out how many beads you’d need for whatever size project you’d want, so you could load the appropriate amount and colorway of beads beforehand! So many possibilities with this pattern…. And I thought the fleur-de-lis was my favorite….hmph. 🫠
